To simplify the Complex Fractions using LCD Product:

First, convert the mixed numbers to fractions

⇒ 2 1/4 ÷ 7 4/8 = 9/4 ÷ 60/8

If possible, Reduce Fractions

⇒ 9/4 ÷ 60/8 = 9/4 ÷ 15/2

Method 1 - Using LCD Multiplication:

Now, find the least common multiples for denominators ie., 4 and 2

LCD of 4, 2 is 4

Next, multiply the numerator and denominator of complex fractions with LCD

⇒ 4 x 9/4 ÷ 4 x 15/2 = 9/30

Finally, simplify the fractions to mixed numbers or reduce fractions if possible

⇒ 9/30 = 3/10.

Method 2 - Using Fraction Division:

Now, Divide the top fraction by the bottom by applying the division rule of fractions with multiplying the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator.

⇒ 9/4 ÷ 15/2 =9/4 × 2/15 = 18/60

Convert to mixed numbers or Reduce Fractions if possible

⇒ 18/60 = 3/10.
