Here is the simple procedure to calculate the pth percentile of n numbers. Below mentioned step by step procedure is helpful to you in evaluating the Percentile of n data items.
- Take n data sets and the number to do percentile.
- As the first step, arrange all the given numbers in the ascending order (from lowest to highest).
- Calculate the rank the position of pth percentile i.e r=(p/100)*n. Here n is the total number of data sets.
- Or else multiple the pth percent by the total number of data sets.
- If you got the exact rank in the above step, then it is not a whole number. So, round it up to the nearest whole number.
- Count the numbers in your data set from the low to high till you get the obtained number.
